Concrete Contractors in Westside Olympia, WA
The Westside climbs from West Bay up toward the Capital Mall, and a lot of its lots slope. That changes the concrete work: steeper driveways, more steps, more retaining walls, and more water running downhill across slabs. We build Westside driveways, stairs and walls to handle the grade and the runoff.

Why Westside Olympia is different
Sloped lots
Steep driveways need a broom finish for grip, careful transitions at the garage and street, and forms set so the slab doesn’t thin out where it matters.
Runoff
Water from uphill lots runs across patios and drives. We add slope, trench drains or curbs where needed so it goes where you want, not into the garage.
Walls and stairs
Terraced yards mean retaining walls and long stair runs. Walls get drain rock and pipe behind them; stairs get consistent rises so nobody trips on the one odd step.

Do retaining walls need a permit in Olympia?
Walls over about 4 feet tall, or walls holding up a driveway or building, generally need a building permit and often engineering. Shorter landscape walls usually don’t. We confirm with the City of Olympia for your wall.
Can you pour a steep driveway without it being slippery?
Yes. We use a coarser broom finish across the slope and can add grooves. Avoid smooth or sealed-glossy finishes on steep drives here — they get slick in the rain.
What do you do about water running down onto my patio?
Slope the new slab away from the house, and where water arrives from uphill, add a trench drain or a small curb to redirect it. We look at where your water actually goes before we design it.
