Concrete Contractors in Downtown Olympia, WA
Downtown Olympia and the Port Peninsula are where concrete work gets complicated fast: tight lots, busy sidewalks, older buildings next to newer condos, and ground that is partly filled tideland. We handle stoops, entry steps, sidewalk panels, small courtyards and storefront flatwork downtown, and we plan the pour around parking, foot traffic and the City’s right-of-way rules.

Why Downtown Olympia is different
Built on fill
Much of downtown and the Port Peninsula sits on fill placed over the old Budd Inlet shoreline. Fill settles unevenly, so we look hard at sunken panels before quoting — sometimes leveling is the right fix, sometimes the base has to come out.
Right-of-way work
A lot of downtown concrete is public sidewalk or a driveway approach. Work in the right-of-way needs a City of Olympia permit and has to meet the City’s standards, so we price that in from the start.
Access and timing
No room for a truck at the curb? We plan pump placement, pour timing and staging around business hours and street parking, so a stoop replacement doesn’t shut a block down.

Do I need a permit to replace the sidewalk in front of my downtown Olympia building?
Usually yes. Sidewalks and driveway approaches sit in the public right-of-way, and the City of Olympia requires a permit for work there. We confirm the requirement for your address, pull what’s needed and build to the City’s standard details.
Why do sidewalks and slabs sink downtown?
Much of downtown and the Port Peninsula is built on fill. As fill consolidates, or as water washes fines out from under a slab, panels drop and tip. Lifting with foam or slabjacking works when the slab is intact; badly broken panels get replaced with a properly compacted base.
Can you work around a business that has to stay open?
Yes. We stage pours in sections, keep a walking path open where we can, and schedule around your hours. Tell us your constraints at the estimate.
