Concrete Driveways in Olympia, WA
Most driveways we replace failed for the same reasons: too thin, no real base, no rebar and water running underneath. We tear out the old drive, build a compacted gravel base, reinforce, pour and cut control joints where they’ll actually control cracking.

What’s different here
Thickness for trucks
Driveways carry delivery trucks, RVs and heavy pickups, not just cars. We size thickness and rebar to what will actually drive on it.
Street approaches
The section between your property line and the street is right-of-way. Olympia, Lacey, Tumwater and Thurston County each require a permit and their own standard detail there.
Slopes and garages
Steep drives get a coarser broom finish for grip and transitions that don’t scrape bumpers; flat drives get enough slope to keep water out of the garage.

How much does a concrete driveway cost in Olympia?
Driveway replacement including tear-out, base and reinforcement typically runs about $9–$15 per square foot in the Olympia area. Access, slope and approach work affect price. We quote in writing after a free site visit.
Do I need a permit for a new driveway?
Work on your own lot usually doesn’t, but a new, widened or replaced driveway approach in the public right-of-way does need a permit from your city or Thurston County. We handle it.
How soon can I drive on it?
Foot traffic in a day or two, cars after about a week, heavy vehicles later. Cold weather adds time.
Can you replace only part of my driveway?
Yes. We saw-cut clean lines and replace the failed panels, and can level panels that are sunken but intact.
