Concrete Patios in Olympia, WA
A patio is the most-requested job we do, and the one most often done wrong around here. We pour new patios, tear out and replace cracked or sunken ones, add steps and landings, and finish them broom, exposed or stamped — always sloped to carry rain away from your house.

What’s different here
Slope first
A patio here should fall about 1/4 inch per foot away from the house. Flat patios hold water all winter and push it toward the foundation.
Base matters
We build on a compacted crushed-rock base. On wet or clay sites we go deeper; on prairie gravel less, but never zero.
Grip in the rain
Broom finishes and textured stamps stay walkable when wet and mossy. We avoid slick, glossy sealers on walking surfaces.

How much does a concrete patio cost in Olympia?
Typical plain broom-finish patios run about $7–$12 per square foot in the Olympia area; replacing an old patio adds tear-out and haul-off; stamped or colored patios typically run $14–$25 per square foot. We give exact written pricing after a free site visit.
Do I need a permit for a patio in Olympia?
A ground-level patio on your own lot usually doesn’t need a building permit in Olympia, Lacey, Tumwater or Thurston County. Covered patios, work near shorelines or wetlands, and large amounts of new hard surface can trigger review. We check for your address.
How thick should a patio be?
Typically 4 inches on a compacted gravel base for foot traffic, thicker under hot tubs or where vehicles may cross.
Can you pour a patio in the winter?
Yes, in dry windows with cold-weather practices. We won’t pour in steady rain or when it’s going to freeze.
